Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Do you offer online counselling or in-person sessions?

I currently offer online counselling and confidence coaching only. All sessions are delivered securely via Zoom, allowing me to support clients across Melbourne and Australia-wide. Online sessions are effective, flexible, and accessible from the comfort of your own space.

Who do you work with?

I work with teens and adults who experience:

  • Performance anxiety

  • Social anxiety

  • Fear of judgement or being seen

  • Confidence and self-expression challenges

  • Nervous-system overwhelm and emotional shutdown

Many of my clients are students, professionals, creatives, performers, or people who feel capable but held back by anxiety in moments that matter.

What is performance anxiety?

Performance anxiety is a stress response that occurs when you feel evaluated, observed, or under pressure. It can show up as:

  • Freezing or going blank

  • Shaking, sweating, or a racing heart

  • Nausea or breathlessness

  • Fear of making mistakes

  • Avoiding opportunities

Performance anxiety is not a personal failure — it’s a nervous-system response, and it can be worked with effectively using trauma-informed, evidence-based approaches.

What is social anxiety?

Social anxiety involves fear of judgement, embarrassment, or rejection in social or interpersonal situations. This may include:

  • Overthinking conversations

  • Avoiding social or professional situations

  • Difficulty speaking up or asserting yourself

  • Feeling constantly self-conscious

Counselling can help reduce these responses and support greater confidence, connection, and ease with others.

What’s the difference between counselling and coaching?

Counselling focuses on emotional processing, anxiety reduction, and therapeutic support. It’s helpful for ongoing anxiety, emotional overwhelm, or patterns linked to past experiences.

Coaching is more skills-based and goal-focused. It supports confidence, communication, and performance in specific situations.

Many clients benefit from an integrated approach, where sessions include elements of both counselling and coaching. We’ll work together to ensure support stays ethical, appropriate, and aligned with your goals.

How do sessions work if counselling and coaching are combined?

Sessions are always tailored to your needs. We may focus on:

  • Reducing emotional blocks and anxiety responses

  • Regulating the nervous system

  • Building confidence and self-expression skills

  • Preparing for real-life situations

  • Translating insight into action

The balance between counselling and coaching is guided by your goals, readiness, and what will best support you at that time.

What approaches do you use?

My work is trauma-informedevide, evidence-based, and person-centred. It may include:

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

  • EFT Tapping (Emotional Freedom Techniques)

  • Mindfulness and body-based techniques

  • Nervous-system regulation strategies

All approaches are adapted to suit your individual needs and pace.

Is EFT Tapping evidence-based?

EFT Tapping has a growing evidence base supporting its use for anxiety, stress, and emotional regulation. In my work, EFT is used within a trauma-informed, psychological framework, alongside other evidence-based approaches, and is always adapted to client comfort and consent.

How many sessions will I need?

This varies depending on your goals and the nature of what you’re working through. Some clients notice change within a few sessions, while others choose ongoing support. We’ll regularly review progress and adjust our approach as needed.

Do I need to know whether I want counselling or coaching before booking?

No — many people aren’t sure at first. We can explore your needs together and decide on the most appropriate approach. There’s no pressure to have it all figured out before starting.

Are you a registered counsellor?

Yes. I am a PACFA-registered counsellor and hold a Master of Counselling, along with degrees in psychology. I also hold a Diploma of Life Coaching and am a certified Meditation & Mindfulness teacher. I work within professional ethical guidelines and engage in ongoing professional development.

Is online counselling effective?

Yes. Research shows that online counselling can be just as effective as in-person therapy for many concerns, including anxiety. Many clients find online sessions more comfortable and easier to integrate into daily life.

How do I get started?

You can book an online session directly or get in touch if you have questions and would like to check whether we’re a good fit.
